Party Wall

Party Wall

A party wall is most commonly defined as a wall or structure which rests upon and divides land owned by two separate parties. Each party has the legal right to alter or carry out excavation to their own side of the wall, however a strict legal procedure must be followed and all relevant parties must be notified in advance of any works.

It is especially important that the works do not affect the neighbouring properties and condition surveys should be carried out before and after the works to prove that this has been the case.

FES are able to offer guidance and support on party wall issues. Our surveyors are able to apply the relevant legislation to your case and explain the implications clearly. FES are also able to act on your behalf in any disputes that may arise over party wall issues.

Please feel free to contact us in order to discuss your requirements.
